The Heart of Texas Equestrian Academy, also known as H.O.T. Equestrian Academy is located near Waco, Texas in a little town called Valley Mills. We refer to H.O.T. Equestrian Academy as "HOTEA" (sounds like hot tea).

What sets HOTEA apart is our love for every aspect of the horse world. That's why we offer LESSONS and HORSE TRAINING in various arenas of Western riding.

At HOTEA, we understand that there is a wide spectrum when it comes to riding schools and training programs. On one side, some programs are so rigid and regimented that they take the joy out of riding. On the other, there are those where the lack of structure leaves riders feeling lost and unsupported. We strike the perfect balance, ensuring that every student not only improves their skills but also enjoys the process.

Nestled in McLennan County, just across from the stunning Del Mar Ranch, our academy is a haven for equestrians of all levels. With 30 acres of many amenities and activities we offer you will always have a place to learn.

Our pride and joy is our expansive arena, perfect for reining, cow work, and ranch riding. The outdoor trail obstacle course will push your horsemanship abilities to their limits. Maneuver through challenging obstacles while enjoying nature's wonders surrounding you. Our second outdoor arena specifically designed for Ranch riding enthusiasts. Show off your style and finesse as you navigate through various patterns and maneuvers.

At HOTEA, we believe that loving what you do is the key to happiness. And no one understands this better than Jennifer Matthews Williams, our passionate owner and horse enthusiast with over 35 years of experience in the industry.

As a rider, competitor, instructor, and trainer, Jennifer has dedicated her life to horses and their riders. With her Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Master Instructor certification, approval as a judge for the American Stock Horse Association, and a degree in Equine Training & Management, Jennifer is more than qualified to guide you on your riding journey.
